Stefanie
Moore is a soprano with a voice of rare purity and warmth. Her
performances have been hailed as
“Standout” (San Antonio Express News), “Soothing and lovely” (Austin
American
Statesman), and “Graceful” (Santa Fe New Mexican). Equally
versed in Baroque, Early Music, Opera
and Ensemble singing, Stefanie has performed in
England,
France,
Hungary and the
United States. She attended the
University of
Kansas, where she mentored with Simon
Carrington, founding member of The Kings Singers. She then attended
Trinity
College of Music in
London
and sang with the Trinity Chamber Choir under the direction of Stephen
Jackson,
conductor of the BBC Chorus. Her
London solo debut was a
performance of Berlioz’s Nuits D’ete,
and was soon followed by professional engagements as soloist for Haydn’sSt. Nicholas Mass and the Mozart Requiem. On
her return to the
U.S.,
Stefanie sang with Dennis Shrock and the Santa Fe Desert Chorale as a
soloist
for the 100th Anniversary Stravinksy Celebration performance
of the Mass and Cantata. She is featured
on
the Santa Fe Desert Chorale’s CD Transcendence. Stefanie
has collaborated with Craig
Hella Johnson and Grammy nominated Conspirare since 2000 and has
recorded two
CDs with them (Thru the Green Fuse, Bach B Minor Mass).
She performed a solo
recital on the 2001 New Texas Festival season and has been a soloist forMendelssohn’s
St Paul,
Bach St. John Passion, Bach B Minor
Mass, the premiere of Donald Grantham's Hymn
to the Earth, and Conspirare’s New York City ACDA performances. She
was
Victoria Bach New Young Artist in 2003 and a semifinalist in the Dallas
Opera
Competition in 2004. Stefanie has also
performed with Austin Lyric Opera, Texas Early Music Project, Texas Bach
Choir,
Santa Fe Pro Musica, California Bach Society, ChoraNova of Berkeley, AVE
of San
Francisco and the Washington Chorus. In 2007 was a featured performer at
Upright Cabaret in
Los Angeles, debuted with the
Austin Symphony as Soprano Soloist for the Bach Magnificat, and
debuted with
Miami
ensemble Seraphic Fire for a performance of the Schubert Mass in E
flat with New World Symphony and Michael Tilson Thomas. This
July, Stefanie sang with Conspirare at
The World Symposium on Choral Music in
Copenhagen. Conspirare was the only American Choir asked
to perform at this Symposium.
Stefanie’s
2008-2009 Season includes concerts with Seraphic Fire, Baltimore Concert
Artists, and Conspirare. She will perform with Conspirare as the host
choir for
the national ACDA convention in
Oklahoma
City and is featured in the nation wide PBS television
broadcast A Company of Voices: Conspirare
in Concert.
