Counter-tenor Michael
Wisdom is a native of Arlington Texas, he began his vocal training in
the
6th grade, as a soprano choirboy in the internationally-known Texas
Boys Choir Touring School. He spent the next six years at that school
and
received a scholarship to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, from
which he
attained a Bachelor of Music, Vocal Performance degree in 2009. Next
year
Michael Wisdom will attend Yale University, which will enable him to
pursue his
graduate studies at the Institute of Sacred Music.
Thus far in his career, Mr.
Wisdom
has accepted invitations to perform with the Cincinnati Vocal Arts
ensemble,
Fort Worth Opera Chorus, Cincinnati Chamber Choir, Fauxbordon Ensemble,
Weslyan
University Chamber Choir, Concora Ensemble of Hartford, Orfeon Ensemble
of
Puerto Rico, and he joined the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers last
season. He
has performed alto solos from Bach’s Cantata's 78, 147, 172, St. Matthew
Passion and St. John Passion, as well as in Handel’s Messiah and Dixit
Dominus.
Though
currently Mr. Wisdom studies privately with Barbara Honn, he has had the
distinguished pleasure of studying with Karen Lykes. When his schedule
allows,
Michael surrounds himself with nature; camping, swimming, fishing. He
enjoys
carpentry, skeet shooting, salsa dancing, and takes Spanish lessons from
his
lovely private tutor. Mr. Wisdom currently resides in New Haven, CT. |
