Fabiana B. González graduated from
the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in 2008 with a degree in vocal
performance. She has sung professionally with the Orfeón San Juan
Bautista for eight years.
With her strong foundation in the
choral tradition she began to develop her desire to sing Early Music.
Throughout her undergraduate degree she attended various early music summer
workshops such as the Vancouver and Amherst Early Music Program, Festival de
Danza y Música de Granada and Muestra de Música Antigua Castillo de Aracena in
Spain.
With the lack of Early Music in
Puerto Rico, Fabiana was inspired to create and develop her own early music
ensemble, the Guajava Consort.
Currently, Mrs. González is
completing her Master’s Degree in Early Music at the Institute of Sacred Music
at Yale University. As a part of the Yale Voxtet and Schola Cantorum she
has recently had the pleasure working with Masaaki Suzuki, Simon Carrington and
Dale Warland.
With the pursuit of her degree she plans to
deepen her knowledge and increase the exposure of Early Music in Puerto Rico.
